There’s no canon or non-canon debate to it - it’s just a quick animated mini series based on fun game with no limits on the dragon ball universe.

It’s meant for fun (marketing), provides some cool what if scenarios to keep you interested, and it promotes the game to the global market. Think of how crazy the Fortnighters would go if the creators created a miniseries based on it. It’s nice for the creators to have more for the fans, and this time they did so by animating a small segment of it. It’s immensely popular as you can imagine, and the creators have fun by throwing out every idea you can think of in the DB universe (like in this arc we get SS4 Vegito and Golden Cooler, giving an excuse for SS4 to fight SSB, GT Saiyans meet DBS Saiyans and so on). They’re multiple arcs/stories in the game, and the one we get is the prison island one. The episodes are 5-7 min long advertisements for Japan’s #1 selling arcade game, Dragon Ball Heroes.
